I write to thank you and the dozens of individuals and organizations who assisted the National Sheriffs' Association in its landmark effort to advise and protect our members from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. While thank you seems so inadequate, it represents the gratitude of thousands of sheriffs, deputies, state executives, and their staffs that worked tirelessly to disperse fact-based information that was actionable; and supplies that protected thousands of deputies and those in need.
While the U.S. Department of Justice COPS funding to sustain our effort has run its course, we are nevertheless, profoundly grateful for their leadership. Unfortunately, we are forced to shut down our in-depth outreach and research efforts.
On the following page is a list of those we thank, as well as their organizations. We hope you will recognize that you and your organization are part of a special team of support to law enforcement across the nation. The enclosed Certificate of Appreciation is something we hope you can display prominently. We are a safer country because of your commitment and the continued dedication of the dozens of staffers and organizations that made our effort an immeasurable success.
